On May 17-18, 2023, the annual international conference "Research for Rural Development 2023" organized by the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies was held for the 29th time.

During the conference, scientists from several countries of the world gathered to present their research. Overall 56 studies were presented, whose authors and co-authors represent 10 different countries: Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Ukraine, Turkey, Poland, Sweden, Norway, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. Interdisciplinary research provides the latest scientific conclusions in crop farming, animal production, forestry, wood processing, food science, agrarian and regional economics, veterinary medicine, water management, rural and environmental engineering, information and communication technologies, education.

Conference organizing team would like to express gratitude to the employees of IT and Scientific Equipment Centre for the excellent technical support, the chairmen of the conference sections Z. Vītoliņa, J. Grinberga, L. Plociņa, A. Spaģe, J. Gailis, D. Bite, I. Leibus, G. Mazure, R. Čakšs for organizing and managing the effective work of the sections, as well as to the employees of the Institute of Horticulture and Dobele Castle for hosting the conference participants and for interesting excursions.
