GENERAL INFORMATION

31st Annual International Scientific Conference "Research for Rural Development 2025" will be held in Jelgava, May 14–16, 2025.

Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies, Jelgava, Latvia

It is with great delight that we welcome you to the 31st Annual International Scientific Conference "Research for Rural Development 2025" here at the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies. We believe that the conference will offer an excellent opportunity to exchange information and to discuss future trends between experienced and new researchers.

It is proposed to invite contributions in Knowledge-Intensive Bioeconomy research fields
Life Sciences: Sustainable and climate-smart research and management of natural resources (include agricultural sciences (crop production, animal breeding); veterinary medicine; food safety; forestry  etc.) 
Engineering Sciences: Technologies and innovations for sustainable and climate-neutral resource management (include agricultural engineering; rural engineering; environmental engineering; landscape architecture;  water management; food science;  information and communication technologies;  wood processing etc.) 
Social Sciences: Research and administration for sustainable bio-economy and smart spatial development (include agrarian economics, regional development, land use planning; education etc.).

Exclusion of Russian Federation and Belarus from collaboration with LBTU. The war of Russian Federation against Ukraine and threatening of many other countries, as well as supportive actions of the war by Republic of Belarus are unacceptable by international democratic communities. Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies has terminated collaboration with any Russian and Belarussian institutions and their academical and scientifical staff.

Currency

The currency in Latvia is the euros (EUR).

Travelling to Jelgava

The participants are expected to reach Jelgava by themselves. 
There are direct flight connection to Riga capital of Latvia from Copenhagen (Denmark), Stockholm (Sweden), London (Great Britain) etc. 
The city Jelgava is located 40 km to South-West direction from Riga. You can reach Jelgava by trains each 1 hour or by microbuses each 1 hour and it costs aprx. 2.50 EUR.

Upon request, the Conference office will send a personal invitation to participate in the conference. This invitation is meant to help the participants raise travel funds or obtain a visa, and does not represent a commitment on the part of organizers to provide any financial support.
